Clare businesses will see no change in their rates bills next year, after the Draft Budget for 2015 was adopted by Clare County Councillors last night.
Charges to businesses remain the same throughout the county, including in Ennis and Kilrush where lower rates which had been in place under the former Town Councils remain, before a harmonisation process begins in 2016.
Meanwhile, though the government had said that the introduction of Irish Water and the abolition of Town Councils would reduce local government spending, there's little change in this regard in 2015.
In most areas, reduced expenditure is largely met by falls in income and Clare County Council's CEO Tom Coughlan feels the changes have made it more difficult to balance the books.
