Clare has ranked in the bottom 10 in the country in disposable income per person in 2023.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that on average a person in the Banner county had just over €25,000 available to them in disposable income.
The latest County Incomes and Regional GDP report ranks Clare as the county with the eighth lowest discretionary spending power in 2023 at €25,103
This figure comes in €3,267 lower than the national average and represents the lowest total across Munster.
However an 8% increase was seen from the year previous, where people in Clare had €23,188 avaialable to them in disposable income.
€34,721 was calculated as the average total income per person for the county, again ranking eighth in the country.
This represents a 6.6% increase from the average wages received in the banner county in 2022, when the figure was €32,564.
In 2023 Clare had 55,358 people employed within the county, representing 2.1% of Ireland’s workforce.
