Clare Gardaí say they feel frustrated and let down by government, as the threat of further public service pay cuts looms and garda resources decrease.

That’s according to the GRA’s Clare representative who’s been outlining their views at the Garda Representative Association’s annual conference which continues in Westport today.

Ennis Garda Paul Crowley says his colleagues want to be part of any further talks on pay following the failure of Croke Park 2 discussions, and they fear further Garda cutbacks and station closures if recruitment doesn’t happen soon.

And following the closure of 8 Clare Garda stations earlier this year, Garda Crowley says his colleagues don’t accept assurances that a better policing service has replaced them.
