The Clare Pyrite Action Group says the State’s red tape delays are leaving people affected by defective concrete blocks in unsafe homes.
It comes as a draft report from the European Parliament’s Petitions Committee claims the government’s Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme needs to be improved.

Currently there are more than 1,000 Clare residential homes affected by pyrite and all relevant homeowners are still waiting for a redress valuation.
Clare Pyrite Action Group Chair and Crusheen native, Dr. Martina Cleary, says the procedure delays have meant rats have now gotten into her home.
