Clare public urged to be careful at beaches

Beach bound families heading for popular spots such as Lahinch, Kilkee and Spanish Point are being urged not to take risks in the water

The county’s coastal spots are expected to be thronged due to the ongoing fine weather and while there will be lifeguard on duty on the main beaches, bathers are being warned to act sensibily.

This year the bank holiday is falling on National Water Safety Awareness Week and swimmers are being told not to take the water alone, never enter the water immediately after eating and stay close to the shore
