Political Church Gate Collections are proving unpopular with the Clare public, with a new survey revealing that most of us are against the practice.
Following recent calls for an end to political parties collecting funds outside local masses, over 1,000 people took part in an online poll on the Clare-dot-fm website, with 83% indicating they’d support a ban.
8% said they were in favour of church gate collections by political parties with a further 8% of those voting on www.clare.fm saying they don’t care.
