A prominent West Clare psychiatrist says he fears recruitment will remain a problem in our mental health services unless conditions for staff improve.
The Oireachtas Committee on Mental Health has this week been hearing how the sector is struggling to recruit and retain nurses.

The Psychiatric Nurses Association says less working hours and higher wages in the UK, Australia and Canada have lured qualified staff overseas who are reluctant to come home.
Dr John Hillery, who is President of the College of Psychiatrists Of Ireland, says young graduates aren’t being nurtured here.
