Residential property prices have marginally increased in Clare in the last year.
New CSO figures show households paid a median price of over €242,000 for a dwelling on the residential property market in Clare in August but the volume of the sales has continued to drop.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show there were 75 sales executed in Clare in August, to the value of €21 million.
Although the value of all sales has only fractionally fallen, there has been an almost 11% reduction in the number of sales compared to August last year, and an over 21% reduction on the same month in 2021.
15 of the August sales were to first-time buyers, 48 were to former owner-occupiers and 12 were to non-occupiers.
In addition, the median price paid in the county during the month was €242,500, up from €235,000 in August last year.
When looking at new homes specifically, that figure rises to €330,000 while it’s €240,700 for existing homes.
