Clare Priest Hopeful Shortage Can Be Managed

Hope has been expressed that the shortage of clergymen in the diocese of Killaloe can be managed.

The diocese is undertaking a year-long vocations initiative to encourage men to consider joining the priesthood, with visits to parishes in Clare, Laois, Offaly, Tipperary and Limerick commencing this weekend in Ennis, followed by visits to Nenagh, Birr and Castleconnell during October.

Currently, 27 of the 58 parishes in the diocese have no resident priest under the age of 75.
