Clare PPN Co-Ordinator Says Routes Out Of Poverty For People ‘Not Practical’

The co-ordinator of Clare’s public participation network says the routes being offered out of poverty to people in this county are ‘not practical’.

Sarah Clancy has appeared in front of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Environment and Climate Action.

She claims that Ireland’s commitment to a just transition to greener policies is ‘not properly defined or robust enough’ to make a difference in Clare’s rural communities.

 

Ms Clancy has been telling Committee members that she believes education is not a guarantee to overcoming barriers for people in poverty.
