A west Clare postmaster remains confident about the outlook of Post Offices in Clare, despite fears of the collapse of the network nationally.
Andrew Johnston has taken over as Postmaster in Kilmihil following the relocation of the post office to his retail outlet on Church Street.
The new facility is being launched amid speculation about the future of An Post, with hundreds of rural post outlets expected to be forced to close.
