A Clare postmaster says he’s not aware of any areas the county that are currently impacted by delivery delays.
An Post says deliveries in some rural areas are being impacted by staffing shortages, after a spike in Covid-related absences placed a “temporary strain” on its resources.
The company says the worst impact’s being felt across its mails and parcels network and at some Post Offices, with some having to temporarily shut.
It says social welfare benefit payments will be transferred to a neighbouring office for those affected.
Ennistymon Postmaster and local Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that he expects some level of disruption for the coming weeks.
