Clare Politics Professor Claims US “Not Looking For Peace” In Ukraine

A Clare Politics Professor claims the Trump administration wants Ukraine’s forces to capitulate so the US can get back to business.

It comes as the European Union has announced a new rearmaments plan that will increase military aid for the war turn state.

President of the European Council, Antonio Costa there outlining the benefits of the new ‘Rearm’ Europe plan.

Member states will be able to access loans of up to €150bn to boost their own defence capabilities and it’s expected that military spending across the bloc will increase by €800bn in the coming years.

A significant portion of this is expected to assist Ukraine, after the United States suspended military aid following a row between Presidents Zelensky and Trump.

It’s not just leaving Ukraine without arms, but also inteligence it relies upon to repel and counteract attacks from Russian forces on the ground, as well as missile strikes.

A Clare Politics Professor believes the Trump Administration is not interested in a peace deal, but is more concerned with getting back to business.
