Clare’s Water Safety Officer is urging people not to seek out secluded areas to swim during the heatwave.
The yellow alert for high temperatures has now been extended until 6am on Monday morning, with temperatures in the banner likely to reach up to 30 degrees.

Water Safety Ireland (WSI) is reminding people of the importance of bathing in risk-assessed areas where lifeguards are present.
Clare McGrath, Chair of WSI, has been telling Clare FM’s Rebecca O’Sullivan about the particular danger of swimming at Doughmore beach – with a number of close calls experienced this week.
