Clare People Urged To Check In On Vulnerable Neighbours Amid Hazardous Cold Spell

Clare people are being urged to offer reassurance to older neighbours amid the hazardous conditions forecast this week.

A nationwide status yellow ice warning is due to expire at 11am, but with temperatures set to plummet to – 5 degrees tonight, a cold weather advisory remains in place for the week.

Almost 1 in 20 people in Clare are over the age of 65 and living alone, and Met Eireann is warning difficult travelling conditions and low temperature issues for vulnerable people will persist.
