The Head of Maternal Care in the MidWest is appealing to expectant mothers and their families to be conscious of security during their stays in hospital.

It follows the recent case of Ennis couple Jill Leonard and Adrian O’Connor who had a phone, wallet, cards and money taken while their son was being born.
The HSE says it was just the second reported theft at the hospital in the last three months.
