Clare Parents May Be Losing Out On Childcare

It’s claimed parents in Clare could be losing out on childcare supports.

Additional supports for thousands of children will come into effect at the start of the pre-school year, with some receiving childcare benefits up to €7,500.

But out of 173,000 applications on affordablechildcare.ie, two thirds were from the Dublin area, with a low uptake outside the capital.

Clare’s childcare fees are among the lowest in Ireland, but some people continue to struggle to cover costs. Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey says some people may be unaware of the benefits available to them.
