Clare parents of children with special needs are callling for a re-think in the government’s decision to inplement cutbacks in the assistance given to their children.
Changes have been made to the number of Special Needs Assistants in Ireland’s schools, and also to the way they’re allocated, and parents say this has been very upsetting for them.

The specific decisions on cutbacks at a local level have been made by Special Education Needs Organisers, but there have been calls for an appeals system to be implemented.
