A Clare parent is hailing the transformative effect that money raised by The Tour de Munster can have for families of children with down syndrome.
The four day event took place across the province last week, passing through Clare during its second stage, in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland.
Over €5 million has been donated since the tour’s inception, enabling the Clare branch to buy a property to serve as a hub for families across the county.
Lissycasey native Bernie O’Kennedy, whose two year old daughter Pippa has down syndrome, says having access to speech therapies is particularly crucial for a child’s development.
