Clare Paramedics Could Embark On Industrial Action To Get Concerns Addressed

A representative of Clare paramedics says they could embark on industrial action in an effort to get their concerns about the local ambulance service addressed.

Paramedics held a meeting last night, amid concerns about a shortage in staff and an overworked fleet of ambulance verhicles.

Ted Kenny of SIPTU has told this program that there is a shortage of 19 paramedics here, and that one ambulance here has clocked nearly half a million kilometres.

He also says the way in which ambulances are utilised is leading to gaps in the service.
