It’s been revealed that Clare is one of just five counties nationwide that has a vacancy for a NEPS psychologist in schools.
The National Educational Psychological Service provides educational psychological support to all primary and post-primary schools, both on an ongoing basis and in the case of a critical situation.

Currently, there are only five vacancies nationally, including in the Ennis district and it would bring the total number of NEPS psychologists working here to eight.
The Education Minister says candidates have been selected for two of the vacancies, while the remaining three are being pursued though it’s not clear which ones have yet to be filled.
