Clare’s one of only seven counties in Ireland that recorded a dip in new car sales in the first quarter of this year.
New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 1,053 vehicles were documented here between January and March, compared to 1,097 in the same timeframe in 2021.

However, the number of new fully electric cars registered in this county has jumped by 64 percent.
SIMI Director General Brian Cooke says supply continues to remain an issue in the industry.
