Clare Native Appeals For People To Facilitate Acceptance Of LGBT Community Within Catholic Church

A Clare native is appealing for people to become agents of change within the church, at a time when gay priests are struggling under current teachings.

Michael Moloney, who is originally from Ballinruan has spent the last 17 years working as a missionary across Europe campaigning for greater acceptance of gay people within the Catholic Church.

In that time he was part of the team that founded the Medjugorje LGBT Ministry, which has helped members of the LGBT community establish connections with their faith.

Moloney says the wheels of change are in motion within the Catholic Church, and he’s appealing for people to become proactive in enabling this change rather than turning their backs on the institution.
