A Clare singer-songwriter whose show was cancelled due to her pro-Palestine stance claims the decision won’t stop her from speaking out against injustice.
Ennis native Síomha Brock was booked to play at a venue in Kansas City as part of her US tour but was recently informed that it wouldn’t be going ahead as her views on the ongoing Israeli bombardment of Gaza were “a cause for great concern” and “may offend some of the guests”.
The critically-acclaimed musician is well-known for using her platform to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories and has previously visited the country to work in the Aida Refugee Camp.
Síomha says what’s happening in Palestine isn’t a matter of opinion but a matter of public record.
