A Clare musician says male influencers online are exploiting young men’s loneliness for financial gain.
Ennistymon-based singer-songwriter Steo Wall has labelled the new wave of so-called “manosphere” figures “false prophets” amid much discussion of the subject arising from the new Louis Thereoux documentary ‘Inside the Manosphere’.
The UN defines the “manosphere” as “an umbrella term for online communities that have increasingly promoted narrow and aggressive definitions of what it means to be a man”.
Steo says these figures act in bad faith and target vulnerable males who feel disenfranchised in order to make money.
