Gardaí in Clare are advising motorists to drive with extreme caution this morning as Storm Doris batters the country.

A yellow weather warning remains in place for the county, with gusts of up to 110 kilometres expected in some areas.

There have been a number of reports of trees down in the Killaloe and Ogonnelloe areas overnight, while drivers are being warned of debris on many roads across the county.

46,000 properties are without power this morning, though Clare has escaped the worst of the wind damage – no power cuts reported here so far, despite gusts of 51 kilometres recorded at Shannon Airport this morning.

Aer Lingus has cancelled 12 flights to and from Dublin and Cork due to high winds.

However, Shannon Airport has not reported any weather-related issues this morning.

Passengers traveling on other airlines are being advised to check with the relevant websites.
