Motorists are being urged to drive with extra care, as a low level status yellow rain alert remains in place for Clare this morning.
Met Éireann has forecast heavy rain, with the chance of thunder, which may lead to localised flooding and difficult travel conditions.
The alert, which also covers Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Cork and Kerry remains in place until 6 o’clock this evening.
