Clare Mother Joins Calls For Revision Of Vaccine Priority List

An Ardnacrusha mother is leading calls for young patients diagnosed with heart failure to be boosted higher up the vaccine priority list.

The call, which is backed by the Irish Heart Foundation, comes as people diagnosed with heart failure are not currently considered part of the vulnerable cohort, even though international studies show a higher death rate from COVID among people with heart failure.

It’s estimated there are around 7,000 people under the age of 70 who have been diagnosed with heart failure.
