Clare Mother Cautiously Welcomes Additional Supports for Children with Down Syndrome

The South-East Clare mother of a nine-year-old boy with Down Sundrome has given a cautious welcome to news that children with a mild form of the condition will be given more help in schools.

Children adjuged to have 'mild' Down's Syndrome wil be guaranteed an extra 2.5 hours of resource teaching, under plans announced by the Education Minister.
