Clare’s Minister of State has sounded the alarm over a lack of young people entering the fishing industry.
It follows a meeting of EU fisheries Ministers held in Cork this week highlighting the issue of generational renewal.

According to the Department of Agriculture, the Seafood Industry is responsible for 6% of all jobs in Clare’s coastal communities.
Tulla based Minister for Fisheries Timmy Dooley wants to take the lead on tackling the problem.
