Clare men Honoured on Remembrance Day

Hundreds of West Clare men were remembered today for their war efforts, as part of an annual ceremony in their honour.

Of the 1300 men who lived in Kilrush before World War 1,430 fought for the British military and over 70 lost their lives.

Ireland was part of the United Kingdom at the time.

Today, their efforts were recalled and honoured with an event at the Old cemetery, Shanakyle, which formed part of the National Day of rememberance.
