Clare Man Saved By Coolmine Therapeutic Community

There’s been an increase in the number of people addicted to a cocktail of alcohol, cocaine and benzodiazepine pills.

That’s according to the Coolmine Therapeutic Community in Dublin which treated 1,000 people in 2012 – nearly half of whom were poly drug users.

The centre’s 2012 annual report shows a drop in heroin use in Dublin but it’s on the increase outside of the city.

Francie Carey from Kilkee is a former client of the centre, he says they saved his life.
