Clare Man At Helm Of INTO Urging Government To Engage In Talks To Avert Teacher Strike

The Clare man set to take over as president of the INTO is urging the government to engage in talks with teachers to avert an all-out strike over pay equality.

They’re unhappy that those newer to the profession are earning less than their counterparts who started teaching prior to 2011.

Around 70,000 primary and secondary school teachers are threatening to walk off the job in September if they don’t receive a firm commitment from the Education Minister that the issue will be addressed.
