The IFA's former Chief Executive and Clare man Con Lucey has been appointed to conduct a review of pay and pensions within the organisation, in the wake of Eddie Downey's decision to "step back" from his role as association President.
The Executive Council has asked the Ballynacally man to make recommendations on corporate governance in a report which is expected in two weeks time.
Last night the Association revealed Eddie Downey was paid 147,000 euro a year, while the Deputy President Tim O'Leary is paid 35,000 euro.
Mr Downey has apologised and admitted "mistakes were made" after the organisation's General Secretary resigned amid controversy over his half a million euro pay and pensions package in 2013.
IFA Deputy President Tim O'Leary will act as President while the inquiry's being carried out.
