Clare Local Enterprise Week Gets Underway This Weekend

Clare’s Local Enterprise Week, which aims to encourage and help budding entrepreneurs in the county, gets underway this weekend.

A number of workshops such as digital marketing and exporting are being held in the county, every day from Sunday until March 10th, to inform and motivate both current and future businesses.

The event is hosted by the Local Enterprise Office at various locations around the county, including Ennis, Ennistymon and Killaloe.

Clare Local Enterprise Week 2017 commences this Sunday when Damien Mason of Scariff-based FlexiBod represents Local Enterprise Office Clare in the National Final of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition at Google’s European Headquarters in Dublin. The competition has progressed through county and regional stages where 24 young entrepreneurs have now emerged as national IBYE finalists and will compete for the prestigious title of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur.

On Monday 6th March from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Templegate Hotel in Ennis, there will be an Energy Cost Saving Seminar providing information how on businesses can achieve cost savings through efficient use of materials, energy and water. Clare Education Centre in Ennis will be the host venue from 1.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. for a ‘Complete Digital Marketing’ event while an Enterprise Clinic will take place at the Rural Resource Centre in Miltown Malbay from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Clare Local Enterprise Week 2017 continues on Tuesday 7th March with a Lean Micro Seminar at the Radisson Hotel from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The event will feature presentations by Senior Lean Specialist Robert Hernan from Enterprise Ireland and Neil Enright, Site Deployment Leader for Molex. A ‘Women in Business Networking Event’ takes place at the same venue from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

On Wednesday 8th March, Day One of the Clare Student Enterprise Awards County Final will be held at Treacy’s West County Hotel (9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.) while an ‘Evaluate Your Business – Power of Three Workshop’ takes place at The Junction in Cloughleigh from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Experts from Musgrave Group, An Bord Bia and a successful participant of Local Enterprise Office Clare’s Food Academy programme will present a seminar on how to get food products to market at Woods Café in Killaloe from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Events on Thursday 9th March begin with Day Two of the Clare Student Enterprise Awards County Final at Treacy’s West County Hotel (9am-2pm). There also will be a Patents Office Workshop at Áras Contae an Chláir in Ennis (11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.), a ‘Food Labelling Workshop’ at The Falls Hotel in Ennistymon (2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.), a ‘Management Development Programme’ at Hotel Woodstock in Ennis (6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.) and a ‘Start Your Own Business’ workshop at The Junction (6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.).

Meanwhile, ‘Let’s Get Exporting’ is the theme of a talk by Ian Kehoe (Editor, The Sunday Business Post), Hugh Fox (Cup Print Ltd.) and Paul Collins (Titan Logistics Ltd.) at Hotel Woodstock from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Mr. Kehoe will speak about the opportunities and Challenges facing Irish Enterprises.

Clare Local Enterprise Week 2017 concludes on Friday 10th March with two separate events. A ‘How to Promote Your Business’ seminar will be held at the Templegate Hotel in Ennis (9.30 a.m. to midday) and the National Enterprise Awards County Final will be hosted at The Old Ground in Ennis (midday to 3.00 p.m.) where Clare’s representative for the National event will be selected.
