Clare and Limerick are the latest counties expected to be included in the Government Mica Redress Scheme
According to the Business Post Cabinet are expected to approve the amendment on Tuesday.
In April Clare County Council acknowledged that over 600 homes had possibly been affected by the defective mineral in Clare leaving the Banner County with potentially the highest pyrite incidence rate nationwide
It is forecast that including Clare and Limerick homeowners in the scheme will cost an additional 500 million euro bringing the total bill for taxpayers to an estimated €2.7 Billion
