Nine accidents per hour were prevented at Clare's Lifeguarded beaches last month.

Figures released by Clare County Council show 44 people were saved at Clare's Blue Flag Beaches in July, compared to 32 in the same month last year.
Lifeguards also say that 2,261 potential accidents, or nine per hour, were also prevented after bathers entered the water at known dangerous bathing locations or had strayed outside red and yellow flags.
