Clare LGBT Rights and AIDS campaigner, Bernárd Lynch will be honoured with a civic reception at at Áras Contae an Chláir today.
The Ennis native has recieved awards and accolades for his activism and advocacy role in New York in the 70’s and 80’s.

In 1989, the former priest faced a court case for the alleged sexual abuse of a teenage boy, for which he ultimately won total exoneration.
Bernárd returns to Clare for the reception at 3.30pm today and says he’s proud of the social changes Ireland has undergone since he emigrated.
