Clare Being Left Behind In Tourism Grant Scheme – Dooley

Clare’s Fianna Fail Senator believes this county is being left out by the redistribution of leftover funding from Fáilte Ireland’s COVID-19 Adaptation Fund.

Senator Timmy Dooley claims 7 million euro of the initial 26 million fund earmarked for tourism and hospitality businesses to adapt their premises in the context of the pandemic is still outstanding.

It’s understood the left over monies will be distributed between Limerick, Galway, Athlone, Dublin, Kilkenny, Killarney, Waterford and Cork – with none of it as yet due to be granted to anywhere in Clare.

Speaking in the Seanad, Senator Dooley says Ennis in particular would suffer disproportionately in another staycation season this summer.
