Clare students are being reminded to remain calm ahead of the start of the Leaving Cert exams tomorrow.
Thousands of students across the county will begin the exams on Wednesday morning, which will begin with English Paper One and Home Economics.
The 2023 Leaving Certificate Exams will commence tomorrow morning in secondary schools throughout County Clare.
These will be the first state exams sat by this year’s sixth years whose Junior Cert was cancelled due to the pandemic.
English Paper One will be the first exam tomorrow morning while those who have chosen Home Economics as an optional subject will sit that exam in the afternoon.
This comes after the recent announcement that the Leaving Results will be released on the 25th of August.
With many students already worrying about the impending results day, reminders have been issued that students’ results will not define their future.
Guidance Counsellor at St. Joseph’s Community College, Kilkee, Laura Egan, has reassured students that various options are available to those who do not get their first CAO choice.
Regardless of their level of preparation, stress and anxiety remain huge problems for students who are sitting exams.
Ennis-based psychotherapist and counsellor Grace Harrison says it is important for students to have self-belief throughout exam season.
