Letters will be sent out to landowners in Clare reminding them of their obligation to maintain overgrown hedges and vegetation on county roadsides.
It comes as the local authority has been urged to make it compulsory for hedge-cutting to be carried out once a year, but Clare County Council says it would be difficult to enforce this.
250 notices were issued to landowners in the East of the county last year and Councillor Joe Cooney hopes increased efforts will now be made to target those who are reneging on their responsibilities.
