Clare Landowners Reminded To Cut Hedges Before End Of Month Deadline

Landowners in Clare are being reminded to cut their hedgerows before the end of the month.

The Wildlife Act states that it is an offence to cut, grub, burn or otherwise destroy vegetation such as hedgerows, between 1st March and 31st August.

Clare County Council is reminding landowners that they can avail of financial assistance from the local authority through the Community Hedgecutting Scheme.

 

The initiative provides a grant of 50 euro per km of roadside hedges and overhanging trees to be attended to.
