Clare Labour Party Chair Says State Needs To Be ‘Much More Serious’ About Renters’ Rights

The Chairperson of the Labour Party in Clare believes the State needs to become ‘much more serious’ about protecting the rights of renters.

The party’s new bill, introduced in the Dail this week, aims to begin a ‘cultural shift’ that would allow rental properties to be seen as options for permanent homes.

There has been much criticism surrounding the Department of Housing’s proposals to link rent caps in rent pressure zones to inflation, given that inflation has recently soared here.
