Clare Labour Member Calling For €100m Catch Up Scheme For Children

A leading Clare Labour figure is backing his party’s call for a 100 million fund to be established to make up for lost school days for children.

Fears have been expressed that pupils from socio-economically disadvantaged areas have been suffering disproportionately from school closures.

Seamus Ryan, who ran for Labour in the 2019 local elections, believes government should begin preparing to provide post-pandemic supports for children now.
