Clare County Council has backed a motion calling for the government to create a savings scheme for primary school children.

The local authority has heard the program would help youngsters mind their funds, by rewarding them if they reach a pre-determined target.
Lissycasey public representative PJ Kelly has suggested the idea, which he says is based on a model in Germany.
