Clare ISME Rep In ‘Disbelief’ At Public Sector Pay Demands

A prominent North Clare small business owner says she’s in ‘disbelief’ at current public sector pay demands.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions last week walked away from public pay talks after refusing to agree to a 5 percent pay increase over two years, though the Government’s understood to preparing a second offer.

Opposition parties have this week called for an 8 percent jump for civil servants, prompting concern in the private sector.
