Clare ISME Rep Claims Commercial Rates Must Be Targeted In Budget 2024

A Clare member of the Irish Small and Medium Enterprise Council says its vital that commercial rate reliefs are included in today’s budget.

Following a national revaluation process carried out this year, roughly 30% of firms in this county alone are expected to see a rates increase from January.

The coalition leaders have meanwhile promised to introduce a once off payment for indigenous SME’s to mitigate rising operating costs.

However, Siobhán Ní Gharbhith of St Tola’s Irish Goat Cheese in Ennistymon believes hospitality firms in particular will struggle without targeted supports.
