Speaking during a Dáil debate, Michael Harty says we're entering unchartered territory following the UK decision to leave the EU, and he expects market and currency volatility to continue.
The Kilmihil GP believes it's now vital that free movement across the border with Northern Ireland is maintained, while he insists that measures should also be put in place to protect Irish exports.
And while Dr. Harty admits that these are all significant challenges, he feels there could be opportunities for Ireland too.
