A Clare Independent TD says Irish farmers are facing the ‘dilemma’ of having to pass on increased production costs to consumers over rising fertiliser costs.
It comes as European Agriculture Ministers are to meet today to discuss the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on agriculture and food prices.

Fertiliser prices are understood to have been significantly impacted in recent days, with senior Government Ministers suggesting a rise in food costs is likely as a result.
Addressing Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue, Scariff-based Independent TD Michael McNamara says Government intervention is now required.
