The Clare Immigrant Support Centre says now is the time for planning ahead of the arrival of the first people from Syria in a month's time.
It comes as a government taskforce, led by the Department of Justice, meets this afternoon to discuss its response to the conflict in war-torn countries.
Ireland has committed to accepting 4,000 people from Syria and other countries under the European resettlement programme but Minister with responsibility for New Communities, Aodhan O'Riordan believes that number will be exceded.
